'03 Accord V6 SRS - seatbelt tensioner & SRS unit?
My 2003 Honda Accord V6 had its SRS red light on the dash for years. I figure I should get it repaired for my own safety.
The shop read codes of:
22-8: Short To power in right front seat belt tensioner
54-5: Internal Malfunction of Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Unit
54-5: Internal Malfunction of Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Unit
Annoyingly, https://www.honda.ca/recalls states according to my VIN and model that this vehicle does not have AirBag recall.
While all 2001-2002 & 2008-2012 Accord is on the list; the 2003-2007 models are for 4 cylinders only
The shop states based on the three codes, it is the right seat belt tensioner; and the two units (one inside the steering wheel and the other inside the passenger dash) that needs replacing.
I would be looking at $800 for parts along.
I am a little skeptical on about the two units they are referring to. Another shop told me years ago its a right side seat belt bucket but never shown me the code. The probably meant tensioner.
My question is could the tensioner fault be throwing to more code of 54-5 and is it worth while to change just that tensioner and not do the other two SRS unit?
