Check engine light after pull
I’ve got an 89 civic Wagovan with a B20 turbo. It runs and drives fine when I daily the car but the other day I did a fairly hard pull on 3psi and it threw a CEL and had no power. Turned the key off and back on while rolling and it went away and car drove fine. I can do short pulls in boost and it will pull fine but if I give her a full send thru all gears I get a cel and no power. Anybody got any ideas? Help would be very much appreciated
That's OBD1, you would need to jump the service check connector and the CEL should blink. Those blinks should correlate to a code but you'd have to have a table/list of the codes.
If you have an ECU adapter harness it may have the SCS pins wired, otherwise you will need to jump them yourself at the ECU. That would be the SCS pins on the D connector here: https://technet.ff-squad.com/wiring.obd1.htm
I don't know what EMS you have but I assume your CEL isn't used for a shift light or anything like that.
