So I have a 98 civic ex /w a stock d16y8. Was wondering if it’s worth tuning the stock ECU cuz I have an exhaust and CAI and was planning on buying Dc headers. But ik if I get a new ecu I gotta switch the harness out for a obd1. Just tryna get some more info 🙌🏼

The OBD2 ECU is not tunable, you would need to either go to an OBD1 ECU (which is illegal in most states) or go to a full stand alone engine management system to tune your car. I'm not sure about the legalities of the latter.

As for the OBD1 most states do not allow you to go backwards in technology, only forward. You car is OBD2.

 

intake and some aftermarket headers won't gain much....perhaps 5HP if you're lucky.
