Default D-series shift linkage

Looking for a shift linkage kit for a 91 CRX Si, D-series engine. I replaced the bushings and shift lever seat but it's still sloppy. I don't want to spend $ on a used part on ebay and end up with the same problem. All I can find are linkages for B-series swaps. Is there an interchangeable part I could use ?

Unfortunately the only d series linkage you can use are from any 88-91 crx/civic. If you still have play at the joint up on the transmission, you can put a bolt in the hole instead of the roll pin. IF that is where your play still is.

No, you don't ever use a bolt. You use a spring pin.

try telling that to lots of people with bolts in their sloppy linkages that you can’t buy from Honda anymore.

Not my fault they're too stupid to use the right part and know how to source it. Don't give bad advice.

Using a bolt is a dumb idea.. The spring pin is used for a reason.. there's nothing to compress with a bolt and it could cause the shift linkage connecting spring pin hole and trans shaft hole to obround and create more slop due to vibration from the engine.

I never do. My bolt has been in there damn near forever. Zero slop, super easy to get out and put on.

If you use a bolt that has nearly same diameter as the holes and fits very snug with no play and maybe use a nylon locking nut with blue loctite I don't see a big problem with that but its a gamble.. Really the spring pin with its slip on collar to prevent it from coming out and getting lost is the right choice to use. Just giving you a hard time.. lol

OP just needs all new bushings in each swivel/pivot joint and should be set. There's plenty of videos and info out there on how to rebuild the original.

He has already stated that he replaced the bushings. And yea, the correct size bolt fits perfectly snug with zero play. It’s literally been in there for 15 years. Never going back to that dumb roll pin.

I bet the dual swivel joint bushings just before it meets the trans shaft are still his stock ones, need to cut the bushing shafts/pins heads off the links to replace those bushings and either tack weld them back on or replace with bolts. That joint creates alot of slop when worn.

The Tyrannosaur Tightener takes care of this problem. It is expensive at $130 but you'll never need to worry about the spring pin again and its B/D compatible - it worked great on both for me.

There is knockoff version floating around somewhere for half the price too I think, it should work just as well.

This. I drilled out the rivet and replaced it with a bolt. Works like new. Thanks!
