Wow! I will try to post some pics but if you own an SiR built in Swindon England with the 2L K20 you are in for a treat. O honestly think it is easier to pull the whole engine up and out of the car rather than drop the tranny out. I am a home mechanic and not afraid to do any work but it took me 8 hours to get the tranny OUT. Almost nothing left attached to the vehicle.
onto of that in the engine bay, the space you have from the end of the engine and the spline to the driver side frame is 13.5" luckily the transmission is 14.25" long so you somehow have to find an extra .75" of non existent space to get it separated from the engine. We had to push the engine to the drivers side with a lever and then spin the tranny upside down. That took an hour just to get it out. Wow.
Well at least the easy part is done.
Another fun fact is there is a support bracket from the intake manifold to the engine block which is right in front of a tranny bolt. So to get this little gem out you have to disconnect 4 cables with clips you can't reach and then 2 bolts you also can reach and then 2 more which take a 18" extension on a ratchet. Easy. Now you have to get the tranny bolt out without any space to rotate it.
Oh right, you cant take apart the stabilizer bar ball joints so better to unbolt the whole thing from the subframe, and then drill out and re-tap the 3 bolts which snap off out of 4.
And, you need a 3' breaker bar or ratchet to get out the 4 bolts holding the subframe because there is no impact wrench on earth that can turn them. I could have rowed across the English channel with the amount of effort I put into that breaker bar.
