Sorry I’m new to Hondas but what exactly am I looking at? I have a d15b block but I think I have a different head on it? maybe a y8? but there’s a machined hole on the intake side that pours oil out of it. I was just wondering what that’s for or what intake I should get to cover that so it doesn’t pour out oil. Any help is MUCH appreciated! Thanks guys.
I'm pretty sure d15 VTEC exists. Not sure. Probably just Google it yourself.
sorry that was a bad picture! I didn’t know I had vtec so thank you for that. That could probably use a new gasket at some point but right now I’m trying to figure out the hole on my intake side. It’s machined out and the IM and gasket only cover half the hole.
I loosened off the IM so it’s easier to see.. I have a machined hole that isn’t covered by the manifold. Do I just have the wrong year IM for the head I have?
Look at the front face of the head above the exhaust manifold, there will be embossed numbers and letters. Look for the code that starts as P** Those 3 characters will tell you what head you have, also in a different spot, there will be the year of manufacturing using its last 2 digits in a little dial form.
I noticed one of the studs has been replaced with a bolt that looked loose, unless you loosened it prior to the nuts in your pic, make sure it's not too long and bottoming out before it seats tight.
The head you have, is it a 96-98 or 99/00? The newer ones had air injection I think and the manifold has holes inside along its mounting flange, 1 hole above each runner port and a larger hole in the center where the line would connect on top of the flange itself.
People would plug off each hole in the flange and run the engine without the system for certain swaps or just deleting it. If there's a hole in the side of the head, plug it since your not using it. Look around at Google images for 96-98 vs 99-00 d16y8 intake manifolds and you will see. There's plenty of info about it out there

Thank you! I have a z6 head. 94 P08-5. I just have a crazy oil leak and the hole filled up lol. It’s probably a good idea to plug it. Does anyone know what that hole is for?
That's just how the head is cast - it's not a machined hole. There is hex-head a galley plug in that area...not sure if it's for oil or coolant though...if oil, it could be leaking from there? I'd be more suspicious of a leaky valve cover gasket and the oil running there and pooling, though.
Here's the intake side of my D16Z6 head - you can kind of see the galley plug I'm talking about.
I was a bit confused as to what was going on. Was kinda thinking you just got the car and the motor was actually leaking from that spot and guessing maybe someone had removed the plug. Most likely it just pooled oil there like DaX said. Just need a new valve cover gasket!
