Help b16a PS Brackets?
I got a jdm b16a stamped 92 I want to run power steering BUT the engine did not come with the ps brackets. What brackets do I use to use the original power steering from the D series? And what belt can I use? Cars is a 98 civic engine is jdm b16a
There are no factory P/S brackets that fit a "B" series VTEC head and the factory "D" series P/S pump. You have to use either an '97-01 Integra P/S pump or a '99-00 Civic Si P/S pump.
I think what you are confusing is that if you had a non-VTEC "B" series engine (B18B or B20B/Z), you can use the '97-01 CR-V P/S bracket and the original "D" series P/S pump found in your car.

Any B series lower PS bracket should work, I'm sure a B16A Del Sol or Civic bracket would work for the upper, not sure if anything from an Integra may also fit the bill. There's also aftermarket upper mounts available but I can't confirm anything about them until I get my own system mounted up and the belt ran.

Your bracket suggestions only work with a "B" series P/S pump... the OP wants to use the EK "D" series stock pump... and this is not possible. It is true that the lower of the two brackets from any "B" series engine should work fine with a "B" series P/S pump... however, depending on what application the P/S pump came from dictates what upper bracket is required. The difference is the length of the tab where the adjustment bolt is mounted.
I believe there are also OBD1/OBD2 differences on these pumps in terms of the cars PS line size/port that goes into the pump, correct me if I'm wrong. He'd need the B series pump regardless, but if I remember correctly he also needs to make sure he gets the correct OBD1/OBD2 B series pump for his 98.
There's been a lot of back and forth here over the years on PS, let me know if I'm off.
I should have been more clear, I posted my comment with the assumption he'd already take your initial advise and use the B series pump.

So, if you are not purchasing the P/S pump live in person, make sure the seller sends you a pic of the discharge port on top and the sticker on the top/front edge with any of the following markings: P30, P72, P73, P74, or P75.
