94 civic ex something strange
So when i start my car it sounds like there is a rod knock but i did all the diagnostic tests and ruled it out but when i did a leak down test all my cylinders go to tdc when the timing marks are correct except no 2 with the marks where they are supposed to be it doesnt go to tdc has anyone experienced this
If the number 2 piston doesn't come all of the way up when the crankshaft is turned 180' from TDC, it is likely that you have a bent connecting rod... and a bent connecting rod will likely make contact with the saddle area of the block (bottom of the bore) and creating the "Knock" sound that you are hearing. Is your compression low in the #2 hole ?
I haven’t checked it because I don’t have a compression checker but I tried to do a leak down test and it had a very slow leak plus I did the whole push down on the piston when it’s at tdc to see if I had a bad bearing and the bearings seem ok now can I replace that one connecting rod bu dropping the pan and pulling it from the botttom
