Default Dipstick oil inconsistent reading when filling

Hi

I have civic 2000 with D15Z6. I bought a new dipstick as I always poured 3.5 liters with oil filter replaced which 8s mentioned in manual but later when I check it was always above max mark. This time I poured 3 liters and started it for 1 minute and checked if after it and it was a quarter inch lower than max mark. I parked it for almost 4 5 hours and checked again and now again its showing overfilled.
There are no dents on oil pan and my dipstick is oem. Part no matched with the engine
Why this is happening?
And what should I do? Should I follow dipstick or oil capacity mentioned?

if you know you already put in the correct amount and the car does not burn or leak oil, don't worry about it.
