I recently purchased this 92 vx hatch and I dont know if this is the original motor because of all the disconnected plugs. I ran the test engine light test and it was a code 22 which is for vtec oil pressure but this car doesn't have vtec. Any help would be much appreciated.
I just looked at my wife's '93 Civic Ex VTEC engine and the green connector (and gray ones) plug into a VTEC Solenoid mounted near that little aftermarket air filter someone mounted at that end of the valve cover.
That open port your pointing to and that port where the aftermarket filter is installed look to be vacuum lines that go into the intake air tube right before entering the intake and route aroung and up under the intake manifold runners on the VTEC engine.
Some poeple that have done swaps may be able to help you more looking though their conversion threads.
The open port to the valve body is for the FITV I believe. Some motors use them, some don't.. The original VTEC E motor has been taken and that swapped in. Check and see what ecu is still in the car. Is it a P07? I'm no expert but I think if you put a P06 ecu in assuming it has 240cc injectors, it would better suit the motor you have and not give you any CEL's.
Read someone mentioning if you had 180cc injectors use the P05 ecu, P06 for 240's. Not sure if that's true or not but sure some one on here could give better knowledge.

That would be a question you'd ask yourself lol
Why not just getting running right by just replacing the ecu with the proper one? it would be good on gas and a lot cheaper to do.
I think your motor was from a 88-91 wimpy base model civic converted over to obd1 also using a different head for mpfi.. you could drop in a z6 and use your current ecu and all the plugs on your engine harness should plug right in then you'd have vtec which is barely noticeable on a sohc motor.. You have many options..

If you are lucky enough to find a D15Z1 VX motor, your car would have significant value. The VX is rare. You are also probably missing the aluminum alternator bracket as well as the VX rims.
It's a shame your VX is no where near a VX now, especially with what is happening with gas. The VX could rival hybrids and it's purely gas. That's value as well as the rarity of the VX make it worth much more stock than modified.
Also likely missing is the EGR controller on the firewall that has vacuum lines that run to the EGR on the VX engine. I suspect you'd have a lot of parts to find and work to do to get the full value of the car. The VX and all 92-95 motors used the FITV valve you have pictured and it's not a vacuum line, it's a coolant line that runs through it. The mini air filter is the vacuum line that normally runs to the intake pipe that goes between the air filter and the throttle body.
