Just picked up a free ruckus awhile back, I’m not sure on what year the ruckus is but all I can say is that it’s fun. For awhile..

I was presented with an idea, my buddy is swapping out his 125cc 4-stroke motor from a 2018 Honda Monkey with a big bore 180cc (or something like that I don’t remember). I’m not sure if it’s possible and I’ve never done an engine swap on a vehicle before but would this work for a ruckus? The motor is small enough to just fit in that little area. The only problem I’m thinking is the wiring itself and perhaps the belt driven transmission.

What exactly are the thinks you take into consideration when doing a swap? Like the main points, something that is a must to watch out for? And how do I solve the transmission problem? If anything, perhaps I’ll add a little challenge and fun into it by making a suicide shifter for it? 👀
