Car shut off while driving & won’t start back up!! 2000 Civic coupe auto
Help, car shut off couple days ago on me driving back home, and won’t start.
it cranks but won’t start, it’s not the starter, battery or alternator.
has new spark plugs & wires, rotor and cap.
Fuel pump primes up and new fuel filter
timing & water pump been done.
newer TB with IAC & sensors,
everything that touches coolant has been replaced except head gasket.(it looked fine)
i ordered a fuel pump relay but i doubt it’s that and also thinking could it be the ignition coil or control module? as i’ve seen ppl say they mess up when hot.
i’ve also read that a clogged cat could cause this ? it rattles a lil from the inside of the cat and not sure if it’s clogged causing back pressure.
it’s at my uncles shop but he doesn’t know much about hondas, bought this car to save $$ but seems like i’ve been spending too much on it lately.

Your head gasket looked fine eh? Lol
I would doubt you cat is causing it to not start.. I would try testing the coil inside the distributor. Like always, bust out a multimeter and test before replacing. You can test every component instead of guessing and wasting money.
Does the engine light turn off after the key is in the on position? If not, check for codes. If no codes then it's a mechanical problem.. Hopefully not the timing belt braking on you! Could pull the dizzy off the head and watch the cam rotate by cranking the motor by hand or pull the valve cover to check. Go over all your grounds taking them off and cleaning to bare metal and making sure each is on snug. Check your fuses.. all basic things..

i will try swapping the ignition coil soon thanks. i will upload updates
Car is now fixed!!!!
i replaced the whole distributor (much cheaper @ $65). instead of swapping out the icm & coil (@$150)! Car runs a lot better now and I’m happy 😊 been out of commission for a month
