Ok, so I'm reaching out here in hopes that I can get some help getting my 97 honda crv to crank at least consistently. I have checked what feels like everything and I still can not find any issues. To start off the issue is that the honda crv will not crank. I inserted the key and turned to ignition and nothing. Dash lights do come on and I hear the main relay clicking along with the fuel pump engaging. Sometimes the starter solenoid will click and sometimes it doesn't. The battery is charged btw. I have purchased a remanufactured starter and tried it but nothing still. I checked the 12v constant from the battery to the starter and it has battery voltage on it. I also checked the wire that comes from the ignition switch and every time the ignition is turned over I was able to read 12 volts on it as well. I have checked all the fuses and everything looks in order. I have tried shifting to neutral to see if it would start and nothing. All the lights and brake lights work well also. I'm just at a loss as to anything else it could be and I'm seeking any advice or help from anyone!!!!! Please and Thank you!

 

So suspected short or issue between the ignition and the start. I can jump the starter now from the 12V to the terminal tab to get the start to engage and the engine cranks and runs fine. Any ideas how to to go about finding the short? No fuses are blowing but I have a voltage drop on the wire that comes from the ignition portion and its dropping anywhere from .4 to .8 volts.
