Default What parts do I exactly need to rebuild my H22a4 with rod knock?

Hi everyone! I’m a new Honda prelude owner and I bought a fifth gen and it has rod knock. I’m trying to price out rebuilding the one with rod knock or buying a replacement and do some “up keep” to that one?

I got a quote from a machinist and I’m just trying to figure out all the parts I’ll need just so I can compare the two in price. I’ve tried and tried to google to figure out all I need but there is just so many different answers from all over the place.

all help is thanked!

At a bare minimum, you will need to replace ALL damaged/worn parts plus a head gasket.

If you got lucky, it's rod bearings + gaskets. If the knock came from starving it of oil, which is most likely, you'll probably need to add main bearings in too. If it damaged the crank, then a machine shop will have to repair it and now you're talking maybe $200 or so to turn and polish the crank (been a while since I've priced anything like that). You can get into some money quickly when a machine shop is involved.
