Fuel Pump Noise, 2006 Accord 2.4L
Good day all, I see there is a lot of knowledge in this forum's membership, and I am hoping someone has run across the problem I am having before. This is in regards to a 2006 Accord, 2.4L four-cylinder engine. This is an automatic transmission, with 175,000 miles.
The fuel pump has started to run rapidly, as though cavitating, when I am at an idle and the car is in Drive or Reverse. The noise is not constant, but intermittent. The noise goes away as soon as I either accelerate OR put the car in neutral. If I put the car back in drive, while stopped at a traffic light for example, the fuel pump sound returns intermittently.
The vehicle has no problem on acceleration, and runs smoothly at any speed.
Any ideas what might be wrong?
thanks in advance!
