Crank Bearings Worn ??
second after starting car. Over years seems it has been staying on longer and longer instead of going out as soon car starts.
also hearing a humming sound from around the crank pulley and pulley seems as though it is wobbling like its not going in a perfect circular motion.
Any of this sound like crank bearings could be going its on B18C but I also have oil line for turbo tapped into where pressure unit is located not sure if that would throw idiot light off or not

Replace it with a Fluidampr pulley or brand new OEM.
A bad and old harmonic balancer (crank pulley) will deff damage the internals. Its job is to absorb harmful harmonics and vibrations.
Replacing the old worn out harmonic balancers is the BEST insurance you can get for your engine!

This one has been changed already its an under driven crank pulley.
Still have the stock one but that has even more miles on it than the under driven one that is currently installed.
Could try it if makes a difference but i wouldnt expect it to.
So if you are not hearing knock sound then generally you are assuming that the crank bearings are still good?
Something is definitely out of balance because can both view and hear it at the harmonic balancer.

This mentioned both unusual noises and noticeable wobble. I might try reinstalling rhe stock one it has more miles but maybe the insulator is not as worn as this aftermarket undriven one. Ultimately though I might just get a new stock one unless its outrageous then maybe an aftermarket equivalent to factory crank pulley.

If its an after market under drive crank pulley those are all solid! no dampening like the OEM unit, they have a rubber section that absorbs the vibrations etc.

Yes i noticed it looked solid when I pulled off the aftermarket one. Put the OEM back on and it has rubber maybe cracked some but rubber is there.
Yea thinking the underdriven advantage is not that great if you have to sacrifice harmonic rubberized balancing.
WIll test car and if it still sounds like hummingbird when running.
THis is a good detailed article. So its saying if your OEM crank pulley is cracked then it could separate causing the outer diameter part to free wheel thereby making the alternator pulley undriveable? Then the crank small diameter portion would continue to be spun but basically you would have one part of the big pulley spinning around the smaller portion still being driven by the crank??
The only thing holds the different diameter pulleys together is the rubber?
