Default ACT HD/Race or Competition Clutch Stage 4?

Which clutch would you guys go with for a Vtec B18 with a GT3076R? Nothing special with it but it will be CSS built so I plan to push it as hard as a GT3076R will take on high boost. 99.5% of the time it will be a 350whp turbo setup though. Not sure what the GT3076R will do maxed out...Maybe 500whp?

Curious though at the ACT HD/Race is listed at only 68% torque over stock but the CC Stage 4 says 250% more torque over stock.

I use an act not sure which one exactly but rated for 600whp

I also have a gt3076r gen 2 waiting to go on. Should
Make 600whp no problem. My gt28 makes 400whp

I'm making 327 ft-lb torque on my setup and am using a Competition Clutch Stage 4...hasn't started slipping yet in 12K+ miles of street driving and several hits at the track on slicks. I believe you can call CC and ask them to put together a "Stage 5" clutch which uses the Stage 4 disc with a heavier pressure plate for even more clamping force, if you think you'll need it. I have no experience with ACT, so can't say which I'd prefer...just my experience with CC.

Just remember that "250% over stock" means 350% of stock (or 3.5 times the stock torque).

The car will probably never see the track. Not sure about sticky tire launches on the street. But it will mainly be a daily driver with occasional roll runs. I think a CC Stage 4 clutch would do me just fine but I have a new ACT flywheel I will be using and was wondering about just keeping the same brand clutch as the flywheel. I know it doesn't matter, but OCD and all...

The CC Stage 4 (sprung disc) that I have has a little heavier pedal feel than stock, but it's not nearly as bad as I was expecting. Engagement is more grabby than stock (as expected), but again, very smooth after just a few minutes of driving.

Yea I've had the CC Stage 4 in the past but I had the non sprung disc. I've driven all types of clutches so not much bothers me after you get used to it.

I prefer ACT personally because I feel their designs are a little more proprietary and have some more thought put into them. I used an ACT XTSS, their extreme pressure plate with a full face sprung organic disc, for 5 years and it was my favorite clutch. Stiffer pedal but nice engagement and easy to drive in all situations. For my platform they are rated for 385ft/lb and I abused it hard. It never slipped once at various power levels between 350-450whp. I recently upgraded to their extreme sprung 6 puck setup which is supposed to hold 490ft/lb just because I wanted to make sure I had enough for a big stroker engine approaching 550-600whp.

I read on here that the ACT extreme pressure plate would wear out the throwout bearing quickly. Don't know how true or fast that would happen.

I actually might look into that XTSS. I love a full face clutch disc over puck if possible.

Never had any issues with the throwout bearing or any other part of the kit. I put about 40k miles on it in 5 years and when I pulled it out everything looked basically brand new.
