I've seen intake boxes that have an extra pipe snaking around the intake hose. Does anyone know what the purpose of that is? Doesn't that take some air away from the engine? I dont' know. I have a 91GS and it has the stock "flat" air box. I was thinking of installing this wierd looking air box just for some kind of added performance. Or should I not?

I like to keep the OEM look and not install a cold air intake.
