You put a short ram intake tube into the factory intake box (non-d16y7).
Cut the downtube, from a U bend, into a J, to pick up air from the fender-well.
Done.

Pretty dumb to put pvc near a hot engine...seeing as the gases it can release are toxic and all....
All this need for fabing things is just silly. The stock tubing is more than adequate for the job, when cut.
A cone filter is unnecessary as well - a K&N filter for the stock box is just as effective, and will flow better than an ebay/parts store cone will anyday.
