Default Stut bar question

Hello.
I have this question.
I got an AcuraEL (Canadian 4 door civic)
so the rear dash cracks every time I go over some bumps or enter a parking or something. I think Civic should have the same problem??
So, this is because the body gets twisted, right?
So, if I'd put a Strut bar (torsion bar, whatever) would it help?

Thanks a lot!

What do you mean by "the rear dash cracks"? Do you mean the rear of the car squeaks? If so, that could be any number of things. I wouldnt look at a rear strut bar first.

I think it's called Rear Tray or something, it's where the two speakers are.

Look at the link, it's the part # 1

it's probably loose, look and see if you're missing any screws, or just press on it and see where it is weak

I'm sure nothing is loose.
I think I,t because the body twists and my car is lowered so this doesn,t help.
I justed wanted to know if installing a rear strut bar would solidify the body...

The rear strut bar will help make things more solid but I doubt it will make the rear deck stop rattling. This is a pretty common problem on civics. Just get in there and start checking for rattles.

This is real typical. I had a few friends with 99-00 Si's that had the same creak coming from the drivers side rear tray. It is the body creaking at the joint between the rear shelf and the rear inner panel.. Not much you can do. A rear tie bar might help a little. You could have it welded in better, but that might be a bit crazy.

Instead of welding you could try a seam sealer which you can get at any autosupply store for pretty cheap. Just squirt it in with a caulk gun. Good Luck!!

I have the same problem, and it got TONS worse when I tightened up the rear with polyurethane bushings, rear sway bar, and rear lower tie bar.

It doesn't hurt the car, just that the flex joints (where the flexible goo is) are flexing to their max.
