Default Electrical issue

My gauge cluster back lighting and back lighting behind all of the radio buttons and the window and lock buttons all turn off and on constantly.

Failed lighting dimmer in the gauge cluster.

You can try turning the brightness down to see if the flashing stops.

Probably going to need a new cluster or find someone that will do component replacement on your cluster.

Very likely. Turning down the brightness doesn't always stop the flashing.

Oh. Also my fuel gauge jumps up when it flashes then rests back down. And I’m not getting any rpm signal or mph signal. And when everything flashes all the dummy lights pop back on and then turn off.

Do you think it’s possible that the whole cluster is shot?

Sounds like the cluster is losing power/rebooting for whatever reason.

Could be a bad cluster.

Yeah, it’s the weirdest thing, I’ve checked all relays and fuses. And all the grounding points in the engine bay for the tranny and the engine and even the bevy battery cable.

You could remove it and power it up on the bench. Will need a pinout for the cluster so you know where to apply power and ground.

Also in the morning on a cold start my engine makes a rattling noise for like 2 seconds then goes away. Happens only on a cold start. What could that be?
