Hey guys, I apologize if this is the wrong place for this. A friend of my went overseas and left this B18A1 in my storage unit. It's been sitting for 3 years and I have no idea of mileage or if it ran before it was pulled so I stripped it. I know virtually nothing about Acuras/Hondas. The block, head, cams, crank all look like they're in good shape. The head is complete minus camshaft brackets. I'm trying to get an idea of what this whole thing is worth, I've been doing some research and it's all over the board. I have more pictures if it helps
these aren't bad engines but not particularly special or desirable. A guy with an old Integra looking to keep a spare engine around may be willing to part with $200 for the luxury. but that's just speculation.

Thanks for the info Mark, I had no idea these went for so cheap. At least it was free and fun to take apart 🤷🏼♂️
No... they are unique to each cylinder head. So, the head is worth scrap metal value... probably less than $10. The block and crank are likely worth as stated above by a couple other Forum Members... $150 - $200 if the parts are in buildable condition.
the caps and head are a matched set, machined as an assembly.
With the right tools and knowledge/experience it's possible to test fit and measure a "non-matched" set and maybe get lucky. it comes with a high risk of catastrophic failure if done improperly. it also wouldn't be unthinkable to re-machine an un-matched set if there is enough material to still be within clearance spec when done. but that comes with additional costs so it had better be worth it.
(example scenario: guy has a competitive track car with lots of man hours in porting work. the caps are damaged but he has a spare stock head for parts. making the caps match would allow some time to get the spare head ported before the next race season)
You might be able to get more than $200 for the block with crankshaft for the right buyer. Someone who already has a B18B that is damaged and is in need of a different block. Don’t just list it on Craigslist and sell it to the first person that gives you $200, hold onto it and you might be able to get $300-400, I think. If this were two years ago I’d pay 3-400$ since B series are hard to find now, but I’m in too deep in my D series build now.
If you’re letting the block and crankshaft go for $200 or less I might be interested.
