Distributor
Hey guys I’m confused on what’s going on with 2000 accord 2.3. No start. One day got in my car it cranks but no start. Cleaned the terminals on the battery, made sure my fuel pump is working. I changed out my spark plugs. Replaced the cap. My rotor is rotating, check my igniter in the distributor using a test light it’s working but not getting a spark from my ignition coil. So I took that off and used my ohms tester and I believe it’s good but still no spark. Anyone got any ideas? Checked all the fuses also.
It has been my experience that you will probably have to change out the ICM/ignitor. As long as you are getting fuel into the cylinders.
I had the exact same thing happen to me. I followed the test procedure in the HSM for the coil, ICM and sensors and it says that if everything tests good, replace the ICM. I replaced the ICM and everything worked great.

I got it from my local salvage yard. Got it out of a 2001 Accord. It’s crazy because when I did the light test on the igniter it passes meaning it was showing spark. But every time I the spark test on coil it failed. And I put 3 different coils in there. So I finally listened to you just switch out the igniter. Fired right up. Ugg.
Perfect, glad you got it figured out. I always thought it was weird that the Haynes manual said to replace the ICM if everything tested good! But it works 95% of the time.
If you are looking for a new one for down the road, I would go with the Delphi DS10014 Ignition Control Module. Amazon has them for $50.
