Air Flow Chamber

Part #2 on this website.
My question is, I noticed there's two holes on this piece. One big one on the bottom and one small one on the top. The small one on the top seems to have a corresponding hole on the air flow tube, but it's not plugged into it. Is it supposed to be? Sorry for the novice question. On the same note, there's a little hole in the air flow tube closer to the throttle body that looks like it's supposed to be there but should it? I thought it was supposed to be sealed up tight besides where the filter is. Thanks for your time.

Answer to question #1: each nipple (big & small) has corresponding holes on the air flow tube.
Answer to question #2: depends on model/year. For example, the hole on the air flow tube by the throttle on my 2005 Honda accord EX is closed. For other models/year, it is open and an intake air temperature sensor is inserted.

I will plug in the air flow tube but I don't have an air temp sensor afaik but the hole is open. Curious.
