Finally am able to start working on my 89 hatch si
I was an active member during the days of the Griffith park meets you guys helped me out a lot when I was broke teenager and needed help fixing my car. I had to put my car aside and get something a little more family-friendly but now I'm able to spend the time needed to restore this to an acceptable level.
I'm currently in the process of buying the parts needed to restore the fuel and brake system. I have purchased a obd2 zc engine and will change the water pump timing belt and a few other things before installing. I will be running obd 1 on the car.
I am also the process of buying interior parts that have been cracked and damaged over the years that I have left it out in the sun and there is a lot of damage. I had the stock seats with the red pinstriping on it but they are severely damaged /ripped. I can't decide whether I want to try to reupholster the original seats or get some aftermarket seats.
As for the exterior the car was involved in a few minor accidents and the front of the car needs a lot of work.
By any chance do you guys know the original paint name/code for the white Civic SI? I would like to repaint it the same color when I find it.
Any input or suggestions are appreciated thanks.

I will be running all OBD1 components on the engine (including motor mounts), I was searching through archives and thought it would work this way. Is this not correct?
The previous engine was already converted to OBD1.

Interior parts and trims are becoming harder to come by. I’m in the process of restoring my 88 civic hatch. I wish I could say junk yard is your best bet but not anymore. You might still find a few here and there but most are going to be stripped away anyway. eBay is your best bet but expect to pay premium. I recommend coverking for the seats though. They are reasonably priced and have many options for you to choose from. Good luck and have fun with it.
