1991 Accord LX swapping Steering column
I'm asking for some thoughts on swapping out my streeing column.
My 91 Accord LX has 3 issues connected to the steering column.
The steering wheel itself is trashed. The rubber is falling apart. There is a cheep cover over it. But it would be nice to have a decent steering wheel.
The multi-switch for the wiper-washer needs to be replaced. The thing turns on and off randomly. So unless it's raining I pull the fuse. This switch can only be found as a used part.
Lastly is the cruise control switches on the steering wheel. Thay also need to be replaced. They deactivate when bumped (even a bump in the road.
I'm thinking it may be easier and cheeper to find a complete steering column and swap it then to buy the steering wheel, wiper washer switch, and cruise control switch.
As for ending up with a diferant ignition switch, I would swap the old one over to the replacement column.
Anyone know how long time wise it would take a shop to do the swap, including the ignition switch?
I'm thinking it could be less time then swapping the steering wheel and the wiper/washer and cruise control switches?
I'm totally open to thoughts and ideas on this.
I'm in Arizona if that matters. Just did tune up timing belt and so on about 5 thousand miles ago. Car has about 255,000 miles on it. When the mechanic did the engine work he stated mechanically car was in great shape.
I thank you all for your input and thoughts!
Injoy the Holidays!

Today I found a complete steering collum with a steering wheel in great shape, and the headlight, wiper, and cruise controls all working. Delivered for $150.00
That seems like a better deal then buying the Steering wheel, cruise control switches and wiper washer switch separately and then having to swap them over.
