Hello, this is my first time posting on a forum ever. So please bear with me.
So on my 2.3L vtec engine my water pumps weeping valve started weeping. No problem, so I decide to go ahead and change the head gasket and oil pump while I'm that far in.
I'm taking things slow while I'm waiting my parts and gaskets to come in. Today I was going to drop my exhaust manifold. Once I get down to the bracket that mounts the E.M. to the Engine. I notice a fracture and/or a complete break on the engine where there E.M. bolts through the bracket to the engine.
Pior to me taking it apart every ran fine excluding my persistent and continual coolant leak problems. To clarify I have had to replace every coolant hose at this point. my car didn't run sluggish or different. It was very consistent. It does have (and has had) minor oil leak(s) but but nothing warranting additional oil to be added.
Is this mounting into the side of the transmission or the engine? I assume it is the engine. Does anyone have a diagram of the blocks's passageways i could look at? I have yet to find much info or any forum about this.. I have worked on car since I was a child. Just never professionaly. How concerned should I be about someone else having to fix it? What solutions do I have at my disposal? And lastly was this due to ovet tightening or heat temperatures in general?
The shadow being cast shows the break.
currently paused my progress to research.
