in the link above, hes at the point where he is taking out the snap ring. If i have a new snap ring, do i have to worry about taking the snap ring off? Can i proceed to just taking the wheel bearing out?
Re: Removing Wheel Hub Bearing, do i need to take out the snap ring?
After I took out the wheel bearing, I noticed it was very rusty in the snap ring groove and thr lip that sticks out to hold the bearing in place.. its all rusted in there... is it ok to rub a wire brush in there to clean the rust or should I not scratch up in the inside of wheel bearing housing?
Re: Removing Wheel Hub Bearing, do i need to take out the snap ring?
Thanks man, i will go inside the knuckles wheel bearing housing/bore with a scrapper and hand wire brush!!
Also, im thinking of removing all the rust on the outside of the knuckle. As you can see from my picture below its a bit rusty.. i want to use the angle grinder with the wire brush tool that you see there to just scrap off all the rust, all over the outside of the knuckle (Avoiding the inside bore).
Is this a very bad idea or is it a-okay?
Re: Removing Wheel Hub Bearing, do i need to take out the snap ring?
Go wild, you really can't do damage with that wire cup brush. Avoid that ball joint boot, the wire wheel will grab that and toss it across the room faster than you can blink.

haha thanks man, yeah i dont want to rip that boot! Thank you.. one more thing.. if i were to go inside the bore with that wire cup brush.. will it be bad for the wheel bearing? just wondering
