the price really depends on the person or shop doing the work
any mechanic worth there sult should be able to work on a 87 crx

the price for the work only
the labor only should range from 500 to about 1000 american dollars
if they try to charge you more then go somewhere else

this is not including the price of parts
like the engine for example
or gaskets
fluids
things like that

A cost range of labor is not what your looking for. What your looking for is a shop that works on a majority of 4 cylinder cars. It will be obvious to you when you visit a shop and look around at what cars are there being worked on. The second thIng your looking for is a shop that is close enough distance to your home that you don’t mind driving to and from every time you need to go back. After the swap is done there will be noises and lights that may come on that you don’t understand. It would be more convenient to not have to drive far out of your way every time you want to revisit that shop.

Apologies for hijacking a thread. I haven't posted enough to create my own thread yet and I'm curious about two things as I'm planning to do a blow-through turbo set-up on my 1987 Ballade/Civic CRi EW2 (1500 Carb). I would like to find out if anyone knows if the D-series manifold fits the EW motor.

The exhaust? Highly doubt it. They are completely different designs. Look at pics of the exhaust manifold gaskets. I can measure a y7 head out in the garage if you really want though lol.
