I need some serious help here on what to do…need all Honda Civic experts
So…my 1999 Honda Civic EX with 117K miles (119K miles now) got stolen. A ***** stole it and raced with it then smashed the windows, destroyed the paint and left it behind a store to rot before a cop found it. What’s worse is that my insurance didn’t cover it. I live in California and you know how cops are here…they’ll help you once you are dead. I actually found the car with the thief after it got stolen, and we went on a high speed chase on the highway. I called the cops but…get this…”don’t chase them.” So I left it to the cops to find him and to my dismay…they lost him. Imagine. Had I been living in my old state…I’d have him at gun point.
California sucks…boohoo…in any case, I want to know what I could/can do to repair the car. If anyone is in North California and wants to purchase it, I’d be sad (not happy) to sell it. Or, if you kind people could gesture me toward repairs and what they did to my car I’d be happy. Again let me repeat that, let me know if I can repair the car (or if I should scrap it)…AND exactly what they did to the car. A note…for some reason they stuffed the ignition switch so that I can’t put the key in…why? Spite?

Just sell it as is bro! its not worth fixing unless you have some strange bond or connection to the car.., like your first born was delivered in the back seat or something but seriously just save your self the headache and sell it or just part it out till its bare and send the shell to the junk yard. Start with the engine, interior then any good body panels but this is only if you have lots of time.
At the local south junk yard as long as the engine turns on and it has 4 wheels on they will buy the car or you can "surrender" the car and usually for something like that you will get about $1,400 in a check.

Very little damage from what I see. You won't get more than $200 from a junkyard for it so selling would be stupid. Just replace the windows and the ignition.
