Ok im going to buy a Honda VF700F Interceptor this thursday. The cost is 1995$ It is a decent bike for an 85, It will be my first street bike. I want to find the front Farren from an 86-87 to switch the head light and ditch the sealed beam. Anyone know where I can find one? Also, How does this bike compare to the Vf500f interceptor? Which is better to drive? I'm looking now cause gas prices are going up again, and the Crx isnt going to be that well on gas due to the engine rebuild with hella mods. Thanks all. Appreciate it.

Its called a Fairing or a cowl. Id say to check the local bike junkyards or you can buy them new from a honda dealer.

The 7 is going to be faster than the 5 thats a given. Bikes tend to get better as they get newer and progress through their product life-cycle. So the 7 should feel better better overall than the 5.

 

Will the 86-87 farring fit the 700f from 85? I want to get the bike, but It would look 10 times better with the 87 mirrors and farring. I found one from airtech, it is race version, but they say you can cut the headlight hole and put a custom light in there. ?!?!?!
This is a major hold up....Well, the loss of licence is a major hold up. But this is killing me!!!

hmmm Well when ever someone asks a question like this at the shop the answer is suppose to be no. Honda doesnt ever tell you or me at the shop if something from one year fits another year. The only REAL way to know is to buy and try it. Or maybe find a VFR board ans ask there. Thats the best answer I can give about the fitting of it.

 

the only thing I know about those it the 5 has a weak valve setup. I think that the 7s do not have this problem. Just a suggestion, but I wouldn't over rev it too much.

The 7 should be a good bike, for the price that one should be a pretty clean bike.
