Default 1990 ED6 hatch Throttle Position Sensor

I have a code on my ecu about a faulty throttle position sensor or something and my check engine light is on and my idle rpms are pretty high. Should I fix my current tps or buy a new replacement one and use hex screws instead of the shitty screws it comes on the stock ones? I heard that the oem ones are pretty solid. Also is there a thread that explains how to configure the tps? any tips appreciated.

thanks!
