Default Aftermarket Distributors and Sensors

Our distributors are getting old. I disassembled one yesterday to gut for a COP setup, this is the second one I've gotten into that was otherwise really clean and functional but the old TXL wiring is tired and dry and starting to fall apart:

We need a solution. The sensors are fully potted, so obviously a rewire is out of the question.

So, I've always avoided aftermarket distributors due to all of the reported problems - but I've never seen anyone report what the actual problems are with them.

Is it just sub-par coils and ignitors that come in them? Or that they have been assembled inaccurately when the rebuilders replace the bearings? Or is it an actual issue with the mag sensors?

Poking around yesterday I found these, wondering if anyone else has used one of these sensor suites/looms to refurbish a distributor, and how the quality is.

For <$35 shipped I may give one a try. Wondering if anyone else has already tried them and has some feedback.
