D17 trans bearing replaced now car stalls in neutral
So I recently replaced the mainshaft bearing becuse it was making a nasty whirring sound with the clutch engaged in neutral. Watched quite a few videos followed them to a T , now with the new bearing in and trans in the car it wants to stall when letting the clutch out in neutral. It had been apart and not had any oil on it for a while so I figured I would give it a few revs to see if it just needed help to break loose , well queue the screeching of metal on metal .... what have I missed.
Replaced front mainshaft bearing because I thought that was what was making noise ... now that it has been replaced with a genuine honda bearing and seal, the car will stall when the clutch is released in neutral 99% of the time when it doesn't stall the noise is still there along with a terrible screeching noise . Will take the trans out again in the morning and look for any indicators but honestly everything went back in the way it came out and the car drive fine beforehand but the chattering whirring noise was killing me and getting louder and louder.... what has gone wrong.
Does it feel like all the gears work? Very possible you have a shift sleeve not in a shift fork and you have two gears selected locking the transmission.
Will the car roll?
Will the car roll?
Haven't dropped it off stands yet but will do so in the morning. If so I'm clueless if it doesn't roll then I'll take the trans back out and pull it back apart. Shifts into all gears. Feels good shifting into all but reverse. Reverse can be tricky but it was tricky before
Found the issue , and where the noise originated. The 4th gear needle bearing was going out , the flipped shift collar finished the job. Can I just buy a new needle bearing or do I need a whole new trans
