Icon5 Help with more power

I have a 2005 Honda Civic EX Coupe. I have I/H/E on a stock, automatic d17a2. I have upgraded the suspension, and got new tires, fixed anything that didn't work correctly when I got the car, and install the I/H/E on the vehicle. Other small things like hotter coils and simple stuff. I was just wondering what would be the right step to make the most amount of power, whatever it takes. I have already put a decent amount of money into finding a good chassis so I'm willing to put money into the car for the power just didn't know which path would be the best as a lot of the stuff from older posts won't do anymore unless I would get lucky enough to find older stuff used.

Your automatic transmission means there are no tuning options. So basically you have already done everything you can do to extract the available power. Everything else is going to require a tune.

Also no need for a hotter spark. COP stuff already is extremely hot and will work just fine even with lots of boost trying to blow the spark out. Save your money.

I'm willing to swap the transmission and get a standalone, I like the chassis I have built. I just don't know if I would be able to make big numbers with a d17a2 or if I should just swap the motor and the transmission.

There are quite a few Prelude's around me, would an h22a be better than a k20?

No. That Civic platform came from the factory with a K series in the EP3. Making all the parts available for the swap with factory parts.

I wouldn't even bother with the H series. Low support and now 20+ years out of production.

No, an H22A would NOT be better. I stated that "K is the way" because as Ryanthegreat said, there are factory components that make this conversion very easy and clean... EP3 and RSX components specifically.
