Default Finding correct manual axles?

Hi there,
I’m trying to gather parts for my 98 Integra ZC manual swap. Thanks to another board member I have found a ZC compatible D series gearbox. Unfortunately there are no wrecked Integras or Civics in my area so I can’t pull and axles from them. I have found some new replacement parts online but can’t tell if they are for manual or auto. I have how ever found a manual intermittent shaft, could I bolt that onto a auto axles, as that what the manual axles looked like?

I know this was a complicated question and answer feedback would be helpful.

thank you, Harrison

A "D-Series" ZC midshaft is different than a "B" series shaft as you have pictured above, so don't waste your money... it won't work. You will need to find the correct midshaft... and it has to be a manual one... the automatic shafts do not work.

Thank you,
If I were to find a B series gearbox would I still have to find manual axles it would the shaft bolt on? Also would a B series even fit to a ZC?

No, the ZC is a D series. You need to find a D series transmission and intermediate shaft. That D series intermediate shaft is getting to be rare as hen's teeth.

Nope. The SOHC ZC is unique and does not share axles with any other applications... and no, a "B" series transmission will NOT bolt up to a "D" series engine block directly.

Boy, is that the truth.

Thank you, rly appreciating the feedback.
So if I use a D series Hydro manual box, and hopefully find a D series intermediate shaft, will the shaft bolt onto my manual axles? That is what I have had the most difficultly finding out?
Also they are ABS axles, I heard they are different.

I hate to say this but a source of your intermediate shaft is the 88-91 Civic Wagon RT4WD with a manual transmission.

Please try and find one someone harvested the viscous coupler for an AWD project and scrapped the rest. Hate to see another RT scrapped for 1 part.

Worst case, you can use normal D series shafts for something like a EG.

Only difference for the ABS halfshafts are the 50 tooth tone rings on the outside CV joint. Should be able to find halfshafts in both flavors.

So your saying these D series axles would work, no half shaft needed?

also would the ABS rings be transferable?

Yup, should fit just fine. EG and EK would be the same. Both had options for ABS rings.

An actual "ZC" transmission MUST use a midshaft. So what you need to know first is what transmission you actually have... the true ZC transmissions require a three-axle system and all other SOHC transmissions only require two axles... a long one and a short one. Once you know this, you can get the parts that you need.

This is the transmission I have found, a D series ZC compatible manual gearbox. So the axles I’ve found should fit?

Also found this linkage, do you think this would fit?

Thanks again for the feedback, very helpful and much appreciated.
