Hey guys, new here. So I noticed a puddle (small) of oil in a crevice underneath/beside the EGR valve. I was thinking maybe a leak from a bad gasket cover. I cleaned it up and drove it for an hour, came back, and no leak (Note: I did not engage VTEC during that drive). So I went back out and engaged VTEC off and on for about 15 minutes.... and sure enough, there were oil deposits in the same place. Thoughts? Obviously, it's coming from that VTEC variable timing solenoid, or so I would presume, however, I figured id ask you folks here. Thanks in advance.

The only places that could possibly be leaking in that area are valve cover gasket, vtec solenoid gasket, or distributor.

 

Thanks Steve . Had it planned to look at the Byrd solenoid today … but that was before the rubber inside the spark plug socket came off and is stuck down on my plug. Will do that walk of shame to Walmart later to grab a metal coat hanger…. Then I WILL fix whatever leak is going on
