My daughters 2004 CRV manual transmission has a flashing light after passing a smog test in Pasadena CA. Says it feels wonky, chugs and lacks power. I don't live there but am trying to help. Told her to go to her mechanic or back tot where she had the test. Will she further damage her car if she drives it a few miles . Thanks

 

Correct, flashing check engine light is an active misfire. Dumping raw fuel into the catalytic converter will very quickly melt it. With the current price on cats I recommend not driving it at all and having it towed.
