A rumor i heard....? If your cars 0bdII, and your check engine light is on you automatically fail? Can anyone confirm this? Who has done their emissions already?

your car will automatically fail when your check engine light is on whether it non OBD,OBD 1 OBD 2....it will fail visual

Emissions sucks! I guess I will find out when i get down there tommorow. I'll post the results.

Well i put the stock intake, and exhaust back in. The reason i got the check engine light is because the stock ecu i have is from an automatic. I scheduled my test at a private place, and guys seemed cool. I dont know im just gonna bring it in and see what happens.

i just had mine done a few days ago.......... failed the first time because i didnt even have a check engine light. second time, different place, first thing they checked for...........

all i know is that CT is alot different from CA
we used to be real lax but now we got stricter.
im worried about my test it should be comin up soon

Look up they will fail you with no CEL. Im still gonna go in the morning to see what happens. Im throwing the lock up control solenoid code 19.

Well went to emissions today FAILED P0700 Transmission Control System Malfunction Anyone got a 5speed ecu from a 96-98 Civic Ex D16y8???

damn dude sorry i didnt see this yesterday. i was gonna say if it was only to pass the visual test pop out ur cluster and put a little piece or tape over the CEL or take the bulb out....

They didnt even do a visual test, they took it in knowing it had a cel. I told them what the deal was, that i have an auto ecu, they said its up to me, and i said go for it. Anyone know how to chip it? The local junkyard wants $160 for one!

Im not sure about how many tries you get. From what i saw, because i was talkin to the guys, they did the gas cap test and the tailpipe, but since im runnin the auto ecu still, i failed the diagnostics. So i get 30 days to fix it. Everything else seems good. Once i get the ecu i should be fine.

this kid i know is selling a ecu from a 98 dx 5spd civic. can you use that one?

*** Connecticut Emissions I have been twice now. Second time failed even worse than the first(in hydrocarbons)

I tested it at my school Baran Institute of Technology and passed with ease using a brand new hand held gas analyzer.

oh yea I have a jdm gsr motor with a usdm ecu.. i'm thinking it might be o2 sensor.

why were you running an auto Ecu on a 5 speed to begin with?

Your better off running your chipped/reprgrammed ECU.

But I have 2 cars that have to go through CT emmisions soon.
