We have a 2004 Honda Manual shift Crv... the engine lights has been coming on, then going off for over 3 months now... the Code is P0325 ( Knock Combustion vibration, Sensor A )...could be Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM), Faulty knock sensor, Open or short in the knock sensor Circuit.

Should a Knock Sensor be the 1st thing to buy - and should it be Genuine Honda parts, or do you recommend any other brand ? This part is over $100 everywhere I have looked... we are not even sure this is the issue. It runs fine... I don't now why this light keeps coming on, then going off .

NTK makes a quality sensor that is known to be compatible. Make sure the new sensor gets torqued to the correct value, it is critical for correct operation of the sensor.

Was the starter replaced recently? The knock sensor is near the starter and if someone unplugged the connector to the knock sensor during starter replacement; but, didn't properly plug the connector back it can cause the P0325 code.

Another cause can also be rodent chew on the wire where the wire is not completely severed.

Thank you , looking over posts on this forum, I seen another post about this BRAND.. so we looked it up and bought one for $45 plus shipping from the NTK website about an hour before you replied..

My husband messed up torquing a MOOG Inner Tie Rod end this morning on another Crv we have , stripped it completely. .., then we ran to Advance Auto just wanting to fix it (got a Drive Works brand)... ... after this mess up... not so sure he should even attempt this Knock Sensor, with the torquing specifications - and we'd read it can take hours of frustration to change.

What IS the torquing specifications -if you know or where we could find them.. I'd like to gather all the info we can - so then he can decide to Attempt this himself.. or forget it.

No, the starter wasn't recently changed.. though in the few months we've had this vehicle... it's been to 2 Honda shops and 2 trips to a local Auto shop ... so who knows if something wasn't hooked back up right ... good to know what can happen though, so we can inspect these things.

Bought it at Honda Shop ( 86,000 miles Manual shift 04 Crv, one owner)... few weeks later, Clutch stuck to the floor, local honda shop fixed, a week later, it did it again -said was a BAD Master Cylinder -just MY LUCK I swear!... .... then right after this was fixed, like a day later... the Air Bag light comes on..... no amount of resetting would fix this..... Took it to a HONDA shop hoping it was a blunder on the other Honda Shop who JUST replaced the Air bag module for that recall... and thankfully .. it was their blunder.. no charge to us, something was Bent in there.....very strange they said.

So the clutch was fixed after 2 tries...
The Air Bag was fixed after 2 tries...

So now this is Our NEW ISSUE ... we just want to rest and enjoy this car!

23 lbs*ft on the knock sensor

40 lbs*ft on the inner and outer tie-rod ends. Rod to rack and ball joint to knuckle.

Generally, the intake manifold needs to be remove to access the knock sensor. There are bolts, etc. that are removed in the process.
