Default 96 Accord with f22b swap

I just picked up 96 Accord lx with auto transmission. It has a f22b swap done, the car is throwing 2 codes and has a hesitation in the engine when shifting up in gears. Codes are p0335 and p1361. The car runs fine but when it shifts to the next gear it starts to cut power to the engine you take your foot off the gas and put back on it shifts to the next gear and gets its power back. What should I be looking for?

Very interesting! You don't see that swap too often since the power difference isn't THAT much compared to the F22B1 from the accord EX

I don't have any experience with those codes but i hope someone chimes in soon

That's a JDM F22B which is basically the equivalent of a USDM H23A1.

Your codes are both distributor related. If you just had the swap done, you likely have the incorrect distributor. If it was running fine after the swap and this is just now an issue look for a "TD" number on the distributor housing and buy a replacement that's the same model.

Td-89u is the stamp on the distributor. My Daughter bought this car 4 days before starting college in another city with Dad will be running by monday. I told her no and bought her a running car with 0 issues and took her blazer and this Accord.

Put a new dizzy only throwing code p0335 now. There is a cut and splice job on wiring harness with 3 wires not attached to anything, 2 large yellow and 1 green wire. Not sure if it's correct. Still has the hesitation when shifting up in gears.

It was converted from external coil to internal coil. The leftover wires are the ones that went to the old external coil.

P0335 is a crankshaft position sensor code. On the engine that was originally in that car it would have been on the oil pump. The JDM engine you have is setup differently from the factory so the oil pump doesn't have provisions for one there. The CKP sensor was located in the distributor on OBD1 and JDM engines.

I'm thinking either one of two scenarios are likely, either A,)They swapped the oil pumps to use the factory CKP and the sensor is actually bad. or B.)They did not swap the oil pumps and installed the wrong distributor for the application.

If A then it will just be a matter of replacing the sensor. If B then the wiring will need to be verified and the correct distributor used.

Check the rear of the lower timing cover and see if there's a small wiring harness running into it. You'll have your answer then.
