Greetings. I am new to the forum and this is my first post. I recently just bought a 2006 Honda Civic Sedan from my neighbor. The check engine light is on and several codes read for the O2 sensors. I replace the upstream O2 sensor, no problem. However, I cannot find where the downstream O2 sensor is located. All references I have been able to research says that on a 2006 Honda Civic, the second O2 sensor should just be right below the first bank sensor, at the bottom, in the front of the car. I have attached an image of what the engine looks like from atop.
All of the drawings that I see for this vehicle have, what I believe, is the catalytic converter around the pipe right under the upstream O2 sensor. If this is the case, am I missing the catalytic converter on this vehicle?
Where the secondary O2 sensor is supposed to be.
Besides the image below, here is a video of the engine:
. I've also attached a pdf document from the repair manual, which says it is also supposed to be right under the upstream O2 sensor location in the front of the car. Notice that the silver metal casing is not on my engine where the pipe is.
Where is the downstream O2 sensor located if not there? Do I have the correct year and model? Thank you in advance for your help?

Investigating further, it appears that they did just that: put a pipe in place of the catalytic converter. So it appears I have to buy a new one and get it installed. Damn shame.

Ryanthegreat is probably correct that a pipe was just used instead of the original converter.
Bummer, Honda wants a mint for catalytic converters right now. Might be worth looking at the aftermarket options. They don't tend to last as long but they are an order of magnitude cheaper.

just be careful. I picked up a catalytic converter for a Honda Odyssey from eBay for around 100. Unfortunately, a couple years later it was plugged and caused an out of town disabled vehicle hassle. Replaced with the Honda original that was about $800 cheaper than what I could buy it at AutoZone or O’Reillys.
