RSX with Hondata Mapping module. How do I remove to sell it?
first, let me start by apologizing if I posted in the wrong place or violated any rules.
I am a noob new car owner.
and I bought an RSX and I guess it came with a hondata ECU remap thing under the glove compartment on the passenger side. I didn't even know what it was really, but all my friends said I was fortunate to have it installed with the car. I don't really know how much it is doing for my car and overall driving, but I just want to sell it since i am not into the racing scene. Is it safe to just unhook? will my tuning maintain or is this a terrible idea?

Removal to resell requires flashing back to stock and unlocking the Hondata from the PCM.
There is also a hardware modification that is done to the PCM to allow for programming.
If you really wanted to see it you would be better off finding a stock used PCM to swap in and take the whole Hondata setup out as a unit.
The down side is you will need to have the keys reprogrammed to the immobilizer and the stock PCMs are now $600+ on the used market.
