K24 Swap Ek excessive steering wheel play...
Two years ago I did a K24a2 swap on my 2000 Honda Civic EX. I used EG subframe and steering knuckle with DC lower control arms and drop forks. Since I put the EG/DC parts on the car I've had CRAZY steering wheel play. I can move the steering wheel about an inch both directions before the wheels start to move making it super dangerous to drive. I replaced the steering knuckle with a brand new OEM Honda one from a EG Civic but I can still move the steering wheel alot before the wheels move. I layed in the floor board and turned the steering wheel and could still see alot of movement before the the rack itself gets the input from the steering wheel even with the brand new OEM knuckle.... I've replaced the rack itself too with brand new inner and outer tie rids with no change. Any input? Could I be installing the knuckle incorrectly or something? I've spent 2 years and literally hundreds of dollars to fix the issue and I can't figure it out.
The bolts on the new joint are tight?
When you install the joint push the bottom part as far down onto the rack as you can go, and the top section as far up on the column shaft as you can go. That way you're not wasting movement in the joint turning within itself, get it?
Or the rack itself came loose?

I took the car to the Honda dealership that I work at and had it put up on the lift. The tierods bolts were a little loose and helped little but the tech said there is no way to fix the play in the steering column steering knuckle. he tried tightening the bolts more but no luck. Basically the play comes from the steering column knuckle and there is no way to fix it...
