2000 em1, all factory, only replaced short blk w B18c1. P1335 error? Ecu needed?
I have a 2000 Honda Civic SIEM1 everything is original but replaced the short block with a B 18 C1, currently have the OEMECU and acquired a P 73 GSR manual ECU vehicle will not start with the ECU not sure if it has a immobilizer but it sounds like the fuel pump is not activating?
Need help on options to get it running a no CEL.
Smog is needed to register it.
Currently displays p001335 o2 shows lean
Factory EM1 ecu on hand
Factory 96-99 GSR ecu on hand.
any advice?
starter immobilizer removal soldering or is a another ecu needed?

A P73 ECU is NOT for a GSR... it is for a Type R. The GSR ECU identifier is actually P72. An '00-01 P72 OBD-2B GSR ECU will not start in your chassis because it has an immobilizer and your chassis doesn't. A '96-99 P72 ECU will crank the car, but you will need an OBD-2B -> OBD-2A adapter harness. Even if you bypass the immobilizer in the '00-01 P72 ECU, the programming will be looking for the IAB dual plane intake manifold solenoid... which you don't have, so you will get a CEL. A P73 might be better because it is functionally similar to the B16A, however, it will still be too rich. Ideally, you will need a tuneable engine management system, like a Hondata S300, to make it run right. This will require an OBD-1 VTEC ECU and a conversion harness to go from OBD-2B -> OBD-1.
To pass smog, I suggest you try a '97-98 P73 ECU... then switch back to the Hondata tune after you pass.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the responses.
i do have a P72 GSR ecu that has the immobilzer defeat soldered at 3 places on hand….Still just cranks.
I have replaced the original p2T B16a2 ecu back in the car. I will attempt to try a set of GSR OBD2 injectors as someone else recommended since the flow rate of the gsr is higher than the em1.
just a shot in the dark. We’ll see if it kicks a code after 45-50miles of driving or if the lean prob is cured. If no CEL appears, I’ll run and smog it and still hunt for a type r ecu or chip P28 w Honda data like most recommended. It’s pricey but I guess you got to pay to play right?

Thanks again, cheers!
Don't bother changing fuel injectors... they are the SAME SIZE.
Your P72 with immobilizer delete is suspect... how about using the '96-99 GSR ECU with an OBD-2B -> OBD-2A adapter harness ?

Swapped injectors. Car runs 40% better. Gsr oem injectors, oem em1 ecu installed,
was pulling vtec great. Drove it over 30-40 miles. CEL came back on. Any suggestions to get it to clear smog?
