Default 88 Civic CRX intro

Hey all, I'm new here. Hoping to find some help with my new purchase. Wife was really excited I took a day away from our vacation to pick this up (not).

I was excited about the condition. The interior and exterior are very nice. They swapped out a lot (1991 B16A w/ P28 ECU) and I'm chasing down a coolant problem. I'll start a new thread about that though.

They also lost the engine A/C parts in the swap but the lines and evaporator are still there. This is priority #2 after the coolant issue - I'm in coastal SC and it's miserable to drive without!

When I was in high school I wanted a CRX and it's always been my dream car since. Now that I'm older and can afford it they're tough to find. I was very lucky.

Wasn't really a coolant issue - I removed the water pump today to find out it's fine. The dash sensor is likely not plugged in or working and the coolant fan switch was also not connected. So it was only actually overheating when not moving because of the fan. The ECU does get the ECT sensor. I opened the ECU and found it has a Bluetooth serial module. I was able to use an Android datalogger to read the sensors. So now I get to finally drive it some. I just need the dash temp resolved. CEL was flashing 43 and 7 but cleared after a drive. Probably lots more sensors are bypassed. Saw a paperclip on ECU as well.

Edit 9/6: paperclip is to bypass VTEC oil pressure. Will replace with proper clamped or soldered connection. 1-wire temp sensor fixed dash. TPS fixed it being erratic and jumpy but still throwing CEL code 43 and 7. Fuel tank is leaking may be cause of 43. Replacement on order.
