I was driving on the freeway in 5th gear and all the sudden i have no power to the wheels but the engine was still running just fine when i try to put it in gear i hear a loud grinding. I thought the transmission went out so i got a tow home because i had another transmission so i dropped the transmission and put the other one i had in but i didnt check the clutch disk, pressure plate or flywheel like an idiot. And the problem is still there. I thought then it might be a spun bearing but the engine runs fine and revs in nuetral with no noise only when i put it in gear and if do get it in gear and give it any gas i have no power to the wheels and i get that weird noise almost grinding and i can put in gear when the engine is off. Any ideas? I think its a clutch failure but i have to pull it apart to check.

 

Pull it apart... you know where to look . Lesson learned for next time. Cheers.

 

Yeah definity. I fixed it tho. The clutch disk was shot out. Tore up bad and flywheel warped. Does the h22a need a flywheel shim or pilot bearing / bushing?
