I have a bunch of nuts and bolts that are dirty.
I started polished them with a wire brush wheel made of brass.
They are now clean and the threads aswell.

Now that they are bare metal is there some process to protect them again ? Or can i just put them back on my car without worry ?

 

yes. wire brush will remove plating. i have made the mistake of wire brushing the head of bolts to clean them up....and now they are all corroded. im going to be buying all replacement bolts from a dedicated bolt shop.
