Default What the hell is this part? Found under hood (2004)

See attached photos. I was tearing out an aftermarket security system today (nightmare!). What is this device? Is it part of the alarm system? Is it OEM? I found this dangling near a rusted and rotted hood switch. I guess the switch was installed as part of the anti-theft system. One wire appears to be missing and the other went into the factory wire loom. Car starts and runs fine after removing the alarm system.

Thanks for looking!
....Sean

Fuse holder? Looks like the rubber cap can be removed.

My apologies Ryan... The second photo was not the one I wanted to post. I just updated the original post. It looks more like a connector.

Looks factory. That blue wire looks very Honda and so does the plug. Diag port? I am not familiar enough with the 01-05 to say for sure. Paging Tech8?

Diag port... OK. That could explain it. Ya, the way the blue wire was still connected to the factory loom made it look OEM.
But I was not sure because some dipshit tech cut into the wire and then wrapped another wire around it headed to something. The other wire went nowhere. This was also the spot where they located the alarm siren. I pulled all this "Borg" **** from under the dash.... It's running so it's not that important but I would just like to know what the hell it is.

Typical Best Buy/Car Toys alarm install. I have pulled a few of those out myself. Complete hacks!

That is the Tachometer test port. Many people use this wire to run an aftermarket 5" Tach inside the car... or fix tach signal on a 6G Civic with an aftermarket distributor.

Same... I hate it.

OP's rats nest of wires he has on the ground is a familiar sight to me.
