My crazy delSol project
I've posted this on a couple other forums, but thought I'd share my delSol project with the HT folk too. This was a crazy idea of mine that I had a while ago. Then I bought a delSol, daily drove it for a couple years, then started to cut it up. Exactly 2 weeks after I started on the major surgery, my wife and I found out we were expecting our first kid. So the project hasn't gotten a lot of love in the 5 years since that time, but I work on it here and there. It actually moves under it's own power, but before I drive it anywhere, I've got some suspension issues to work out due to the lowering I needed to do. I've got a lot of the major work done, but there is still a lot left to do. It's a fun way to fill a few hours now and then.

Yep - It was a body from the 1970's marketed under the name Kelmark GT, designed for the VW bug. I always liked the kit, but hated the windshield and door surrounds. So I was looking at ways to add different doors and windshield, when I realized it just made more sense to adapt the body to a more modern donor. The delSol had the perfect dimensions, and great lines to match the body (even better than the MR2 imo). The targa was a bonus as it matched the original Dino. Even the rake of the hood matched - in fact the hood on the car is the stock delSol hood.
